Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

The Delta District Community Police Offices offer complimentary CPTED evaluations to businesses and private residences. A team of volunteers/officers with specialized training in CPTED principles will attend your business or home and provide an evaluation that indicates how to target harden (making your property less appealing to the criminal element).

The CPTED members examine several factors in their assessment of each residence or business. For example, examining factors such as lighting, landscaping, access control, visibility, and overall design to identify ways of making your property less appealing to criminals. Once the evaluation is complete the team creates a comprehensive report that will be shared with the property owner. This report has various tips along with information that was discussed during the evaluation.
