Public Safety Partners and Media Invited to Axon Roadshow Hosted by DPD
The Delta Police Department (DPD) is pleased to announce that it will host the Axon Roadshow on May 27, 2024. This event will showcase the latest advancements in public safety technologies designed to enhance safety and efficiency.
Axon, an international company headquartered in Arizona, specializes in public safety technology, training, and software designed to ensure the safety of both public safety professionals and the communities they serve.
Vishal Dhir, Axon's Senior Vice President for the Americas, notes that Axon will “be showcasing Fūsus by Axon, Fotokite, T10, Axon Body 4, Axon Records, and introducing our Canadian customers to Axon E-Notes and DraftOne. If you're interested in significantly reducing the time officers spend on writing reports and spending more time in their communities, these latest solutions will be fun ones to see and demo in person.”
Our public safety partners are invited to the Roadshow (registration and other details below).
Additionally, the media is invited for a behind-the-scenes look at the Roadshow. From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., media will have the opportunity to don VR headsets and immerse themselves in real-world scenarios used to train police officers in controlled environments. These demonstrations will highlight de-escalation techniques and the practice of split-second decision-making under the high-stress conditions of real fieldwork.
Chief Dubord notes, “Our strategic plan focuses on excellence through professionalization, technology, and innovation. Partnering with Axon for the Roadshow demonstrates our commitment to this goal. As the first in BC to deploy body-worn cameras, we continue to explore opportunities to enhance community safety and operational efficiency through technology. The Roadshow facilitates information sharing with public safety partners and the media, which is essential for modern policing that relies on technological innovation for effective operations.”
The Roadshow is an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies that organizations across Canada, such as the DPD are deploying, including:
- Body-worn cameras
- Draft One, a software product that drafts high-quality police reports in seconds based on auto-transcribed body-worn camera audio
- The latest fleet of in-car cameras equipped with Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) software, helping combat Canada's unprecedented auto theft crisis
- Drones
- Digital Evidence Management (DEMS)
