News Release

File 2023-5021

On March 3rd, 2023, shortly after 2:30 am, the Delta Police Department received a report of a serious collision at the 72nd Avenue off-ramp from Hwy 91 southbound.  Officers located a single vehicle that appears to have struck a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to leave the elevated roadway, and come to rest in the forested area adjacent to the ramp. The lone occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

Collision reconstruction investigators will remain on the scene conducting their investigation.  Southbound Hwy 91 exit and entrance ramps were initially closed due to this investigation; however, the southbound Hwy 91 exit ramp to access 72nd Ave eastbound has now been reopened.

Investigators are asking any witnesses or anyone with dash camera video in the area at approximately 02:30 am to contact the Delta Police at (604)946-4411 and quote file number 2023-5021.
