Holiday Season Counter Attack – Removing Impaired Drivers from our Streets
|Release Date/Time:||December 13, 2017 9:10am|
The Delta Police continue to make road safety a priority and are taking to the streets conducting counter attack roadblocks over the next several weeks through the Holiday Season.
As recently as last night (December 12, 2017) Delta Police responded to a report of a hit and run in the 11800 blk of 82 Avenue. Police located the suspect vehicle a short distance away, arresting the female driver that now faces impaired driving charges under the Criminal Code.
In another case, in the early hours this morning, patrol officers responded to a report of a possible impaired in the 10800 blk of 72 Avenue. Police located the vehicle and issued the driver a 90 day driving prohibition.
These two examples demonstrate that when you call we respond – working together to remove impaired drivers from our streets is making a difference.
If you choose to consume liquor at a party or special holiday gathering, please make prior arrangements for your transportation to and from the event. A temporary lapse in judgement can have life changing consequences.
The Delta Police will be out on the streets conducting patrols and counter attack roadblocks. We encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, so we can all enjoy a safe and happy Holiday Season!
