Abbotsford man charged in June 2017 hit and run of 5 men in Ladner
An Abbotsford man is facing multiple charges after an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of June 11, 2017 in Ladner.
A man is alleged to have intentionally driven his vehicle into a group of pedestrians at the 5300 block of 48A Avenue, hitting five males and causing serious injury to two of the men, and minor injuries to the remaining three men. The driver apparently then fled the scene without stopping.
Police investigation revealed that the driver was believed to have been in a physical altercation at a nearby pub with some or all of the males who were latter struck by the vehicle.
“Police resources from patrol, major crime, and forensics, as well as a traffic collision analyst dealt with multiple scenes and many witnesses and victims while investigating this incident,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police.
All five victims from the incident are expected to make a full recovery.
