If you were arrested, fingerprinted and charged with an offence by the Delta Police Department which resulted in a non-conviction finding in court, you may be eligible for the destruction of your fingerprints and photograph.
If you have been convicted of an offence anywhere in Canada, you will be required to apply for a pardon. The pardon application guide can be viewed on the National Parole Board website. There are varying wait periods that must expire before you can apply to begin the destruction process:

Each request is reviewed on a case by case basis and destruction requests may be denied in some cases. There is no legislation in place that requires a municipal police agency to destroy identification documents.
You may apply to destroy the identification documents gathered upon arrest (such as your fingerprints and photograph) and the criminal record history pertaining to Delta charges ONLY contained in the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database held at the RCMP central repository in Ottawa.
The information compiled as a result of the police incident(s) will remain in our local records management system, wherein destruction or removal is not within our policy or guidelines, and the results of the court proceedings will remain in the court’s database.

If you have non-conviction findings in other jurisdictions, you will be required to make application to each police agency for destruction of identification documents. Each police agency has developed their own policy with respect to destruction requests; therefore, it is advisable to contact each separate agency to ascertain what their process for destruction is.
There is no charge for this process. You may drop off your request in person or complete the Application for Destruction of Fingerprints and Photograph for Non-Convictions, include a photocopy of one piece of primary identification.
Upon receipt of your request we will send you a confirmation letter advising that a review has been initiated. When the destruction process is approved and the RCMP in Ottawa have returned your fingerprints to us, we will send you a final letter for your records once concluded. Please be aware that this process can take as long as 12 months.
