All applicants requesting a Delta Police criminal record check must currently reside in Delta. If you live outside of Delta you must go to the police agency in your jurisdiction. Jurisdiction exceptions are only allowed for pardon applicants completing step 5 of the application (Local Police Record Check) who have resided in Delta within the past five years.
Release of information
Delta Police release criminal record check results directly to the applicant by mail unless the applicant has signed a waiver provided by the organization requesting the check. The applicant will be responsible for sharing the results with the requesting agency.
If you are applying for a position with a person or organization responsible for the well-being of one or more children, seniors, or physically or mentally challenged persons, you are also required to complete a Vulnerable Sector form which checks for any pardoned sex offences.

Provide official government-photographed identification. It should state your date of birth and display your photograph. Acceptable forms of identification are BC Driver's Licence, BC ID, passport or Canadian Citizenship card. If it does not include a Delta address you must also provide proof of Delta residency (this can be a bank statement or utility bill).

The fee for a criminal record check is $65.00, cash only—please bring exact amount. This applies to employment, adoption, practicum, school, homestay or personal use.

There is no charge for a volunteer, but a letter from an organization stating the applicant is a volunteer must be provided on letterhead and signed by the organization.

All volunteer criminal record checks must include a stamped self-addressed envelope with their criminal record check submission.
7.
Bring all the items listed above to either Delta Police Headquarters or the North Delta Police Station »see addresses and maps.

Occasionally an applicant may dispute the result, or wish for more information about the result of their criminal record check. All requests for information, or complaints about the result, must be in writing and addressed to Criminal Record Check, Delta Police Department.
