Summer CounterAttack Initiative – Results Encouraging

The Delta Police took the streets with multiple CounterAttack roadblocks through -out the summer months. With more than 5000 vehicles checked, there were fewer than forty Approved Screening Device tests administered which resulted six drivers being issued roadside suspensions and vehicle impoundments.

There were other infractions and offences that were detected and dealt with as a result of the CounterAttack checks. These included;

Violation Tickets – 52 (various driving offences)
Notice In Orders – 19
Drug files initiated – 7
Prohibition notices – 2
Arrest Warrants – 3

Efforts to remove impaired drivers from our roadways continues to be a priority for the Delta Police as we endeavor to make our roads safer through enforcement, education and awareness initiatives.

Too many know the realities of the tragic life changing consequences that go along with drinking and driving. Think of others, don’t drink and drive; the evidence is clear, the two don’t mix.
