March 31, 2017 marks seven years since 62 year old Regina BRAZIL was murdered in her own home. This case remains open and unsolved.
Background: At approximately 7: 00 p.m. on March 31 2010, a neighbor who had not seen the Regina Brazil for a day or so called the Delta Police to attend Regina’s apartment, located in the 4600 blk of Evergreen Lane, to check on her. On arrival police found 62 year old Regina BRAZIL deceased in her apartment. Given the death appeared suspicious, the Delta Police Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Sections were called in to take control of the scene and investigation.
There was no apparent forced entry to Regina’s apartment and police believe that the person or persons responsible for her death were known to her.
Regina was quite well known in her apartment complex and the community of Ladner. Some of her social habits included;
- Attending exercise classes at McKee Recreation centre
- Frequently going to the (now closed Java Hut) near Save On Foods in Ladner for coffee and socializing with locals.
- Thrift shopping
- Daily socializing within the common area of her apartment complex
To date, the Delta Police have employed various investigative strategies, completed 400 investigative taskings and conducted over 140 interviews as part of this homicide investigation.
Delta Police continue to keep this investigation open and actively follow-up on any tips and leads received in an effort identify the person or persons responsible for death of Regina Brazil.
