The Delta Police Department Victim Services, as part of the DOVE Committee, will be attending the Delta Police and Fire Battle of the Badges hockey game February 22, 2017 at Sungod Arena. It is an opportunity to interact with young people and provide anti-bullying resource cards to the students in attendance.
Additionally, DOVE committee members will be attending all seven Delta high schools during the lunch hour providing information, resources and support to students around the topic of bullying and violence in relationships. Trauma Assistance K9 Caber will also be out and about offering support and assistance.
“The DOVE committee members hope to educate students and bring awareness toward building healthy relationships and reducing negative peer behaviors,” explains Jill Colley Co-Chair of DOVE & Family Violence Intervention Worker Delta Police Victim Services.

DOVE Committee Background: The Delta Opposes Violence Everywhere Committee (DOVE) is comprised of members from various community service agencies within Delta, whose focus is the prevention of relationship violence through Education. The DOVE committee’s objective is to increase public awareness surrounding violence in relationships and the committee’s coordinated efforts work toward reducing any gaps in services that may exist in the Delta area.
The Dove Committee consists of multiple community agencies including;, Delta Police Victim Services, Delta Police Domestic Violence Unit, Stroh’s Healthcare, Deltassist Family & Community Services, Legal Services Society, Boy and Girls Club, Diversecity, Options, Family Justice Services, Delta School District, Delta/Surrey Community Corrections, BC Responsible & Problem Gambling Program, YMCA Seeds of Independence Program, Delta Senior Planning team.
