Tsawwassen Community Police Station (CoPS) has been at its current location for the past 22 years, a long standing location for the Delta Police with a good many citizens committing not just a few hours but years of countless hours of volunteerism in this office.
Looking back over the years there have been many a community events attended, initiatives started and maintained which has added to the service level of the Delta Police to the citizens of Delta, specifically Tsawwassen.
This tradition of community engagement is going to continue at our new location. January 24, 2017 will mark the start of a new era for the Tsawwassen CoPS as it takes up residence at the Tsawwassen Town Center Mall. The station Constable along with the 38 serving volunteers (many with over 20 years of service) are excited to open its doors at this new location.
The officer in charge of the Operational Support Branch of the Delta Police, Inspector Varun Naidu says, “Our goal is to be more accessible to a broader cross section of people. By being at this central location it will allow us more opportunities to engage with citizens and enhance our ability to serve you better. We have many long standing volunteers, some with over 30 years of dedicated service. The volunteers really are the key to the success of any of our Cops offices. These volunteers are great examples of how community involvement builds and strengthens the fabric of community. This kind of partnership with citizens really demonstrates how effective police working alongside citizens is in maintaining a safer and better community.”
