If we are unable to find a suitable candidate for a vacancy through our internal job posting system, we will recruit externally. Our selection process involves each of the following steps:
- Screening applications to ensure the minimum requirements are met (e.g. Grade 12 education)
- Administering a variety of tests including computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Word), spelling and keyboarding (minimum of 40 wpm)
- Holding an in-depth interview
- Conducting a background security clearance which may include a polygraph examination.
Engagement with the Delta Police Department is contingent upon successful completion of all steps of the selection process.
It is a requirement that all applicants maintain their security clearance throughout their employment.
