Strategic Planning

In 1999 Chief Cessford implemented the Strategic Planning Process which starts with an annual two-day session, where representatives from all levels of the Department (volunteers, civilian staff, Police Board members, patrol officers, supervisors and management) work together to identify crime trends and local and global issues which may impact the quality of life for the citizens of Delta.

During these sessions the contributions are drawn upon to enhance our Vision, Mission Statement, Core Values, Strategic Goals and the activities required to ensure appropriate outcomes. The realities of time, budget and staffing are considered later during the prioritization process. This unique strategic planning process encourages all involved in the Department to contribute to its direction and successes.

2014-2018 Strategic Goals
