Mayor Lois E. JacksonLois E. Jackson has served Delta as Mayor and Police Chair for the past six years. Previously, she served almost continuously as a Councillor since she was the first woman elected to that position in 1973.

Mayor Jackson is a Director of the Greater Vancouver Regional District and of E-COMM, and a member of the GVRD Labour Relations Bureau, the GVRD Finance Committee and the GVRD Planning & Environment Committee.

During her career of community service, Mayor Jackson has been a Founding Organizer of the Delta Family Court Committee, of DeltAssist, the Emergency Measures Committee and the Crime Prevention Unit. She was Chairman of the Family Services Society and a Director of the Hillside Boys & Girls Club, Variety Farms and the Delta Homemakers Society. In 1993, she received the Canadian Medal for outstanding contribution to community service, and in 2002 was the recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal.

A 35-year resident of North Delta, Mayor Jackson has two daughters, one son, two grandchildren and a dog.

David CoulsonDavid Coulson is a lawyer and a long time resident of North Delta. He practised law for a number of years and is now an arbitrator and post secondary instructor of Commercial Law. He has been a Commissioner on Delta's Parks and Recreation Commission for fifteen years.

David played a lead role in the expansion and renovation of the Sungod Recreation Centre, serving as Chair of the Design Task Force from 1996 to 1999 and Chair of the Friends of Sungod from 1999 to 2004. David has participated in and chaired various committees and task forces in both North and South Delta over the years.

David is a karate instructor and has taught karate to kids and youth in North Delta since 1995. He is a past president of the UBC Alumni Association and has served on various other community boards and committees. He and his wife have two children.

Rahim Dadani

Rahim Dadani has been a proud and active citizen of Delta for over 30 years. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from UBC and is currently the Vice President of Branch Operations for the White Paper Company, recognized consistently as one of Canada's top 50 privately managed companies.

Rahim is an active community volunteer in Delta and the entire Lower Mainland—from volunteering his time on the Delta Police Board, to being the past Chairperson of the Ismaili Volunteers of British Columbia and an active past participant and alumni of Leadership Vancouver. Rahim also works with various volunteer groups throughout Canada as a National Trainer for Volunteer Canada.

Dennis Des Lauriers

Dennis Des Lauriers and his wife Trudy have resided in Tsawwassen since 1969. Their three adult children were born and raised in the community and graduated from Delta schools. Prior to his retirement in 2004, Dennis was employed in the Delta School District as a teacher, counsellor, vice-principal, secondary school principal (Burnsview and Seaquam), assistant superintendent and acting superintendent. He served two terms as President of the Association of Delta School Administrators and was a founder of the Student Leadership initiative of the BC Principals and Vice-Principals Association. In the community he was active in minor sports and high school sports organizations as a coach, manager and executive.

Dennis has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Tour de Delta, the international cycling race, for the past three years. He was a member of the Delta Community Hospice Foundation Board for fifteen years and served as the Board Chair for the last eight years.

He has been a member of Beach Grove Golf Club since 1972 and plays there regularly. Other active pursuits include traveling, cycling, work-outs and spending time with family and friends.

Joan Hansen

Joan Hansen has lived in Delta since 1982. She is an Optometrist and has practiced in Tsawwassen since moving here. Joan has been active within her professional Optometry Association and regulatory body. She served as president of the BC Association of Optometry and later as president of the Canadian Association. She also served one term on the regulatory body for Optometry.

In Delta Joan has been involved with The Tsawwassen Business Association, Delta Chamber of Commerce, Kinsmen Recreation Foundation, the BIA of Tsawwassen, and the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen. She is also a public member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC).   Joan has two cats and loves to putter in her garden.

Gerry KilcupGerry Kilcup has resided in Delta with his family since 1984. Prior to his retirement he served as President & CEO of Kwantlen University College (l993-99) and Academic Vice-President (l985-93). Before he joined KUC he was the President & CEO of the Justice Institute of British Columbia. He started his career in British Columbia as the first Director of the British Columbia Police Academy.

Gerry has taught courses about policing in Canada at Conestoga College of Applied Arts & Technology in Kitchener, Ontario, KUC in Richmond and Surrey BC and as a lecturer in the faculty of Criminology at SFU. In retirement he has worked as a consultant to the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General for BC and the Federal Solicitor General in areas related to police board governance and oversight responsibilities.

Currently Gerry is an active member of the Tsawwassen Point Roberts Rotary Club and the grandfather of two.

Robert VincentRobert (Bob) Vincent and his wife, Sandi, are originally from the Okanagan and have resided in Ladner since 1992. Their two sons both graduated from Delta Secondary and subsequently returned to Penticton to pursue their chosen careers.

Bob is a Principal of Brighter Mechanical Limited, a Richmond-based business that specializes in retrofitting residential buildings with new domestic water systems, throughout the Lower Mainland. As part of 70 employees, he is proud to employ a dozen or so young men from Ladner, most of whom are well on their way to getting a trade in the construction industry. The company supports various charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Boys and Girls Club and Covenant House.

Bob has a long history of community involvement as a Scout leader, hockey and baseball coach and as a referee for minor hockey and various men's leagues. He is a Past-President of the Certified General Accountants of BC. In addition to serving on the Delta Police Board, he is also a member of the Board of the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of BC and is a Director of the Better Business Bureau of Vancouver.

Bob and Sandi enjoy the outdoors including camping, skiing, cycling, hiking and hanging out with their dog, Guinness.
